Give strong drink to him who is perishing...

I've not really started reading the Bible again. It still bores me to sleep. I know, I know. The Ned Flanderses of the world who probably not approve but screw them. Anyway, I am now reading "The Year of Living Biblically" by A.J. Jacobs and it quotes a Bible verse:

Give strong drink to those who are perishing, and wine to those in bitter distress - Proverbs 31:6

Really interesting. I checked if this was real and it is! The next verses actually says:

When they drink, they will forget their misery, and think no more of their burdens - Proverbs 31:7

Man, the Bible actually sanctions the use of alcohol as a depression cure. Gotta get my wine then. I have run out of Baileys...
