Twilight zone dream

Here's a weird dream I had last night. Was mainly in 3rd person, watching and observing but not really involved. Here is what I remember of it, or at least how I think I did. Dreams are a slippery thing to grasp. Here goes... There is a guy who lost his lover. Not as in breaking up but more in the sense that she just disappeared from his life. He thought her dead but one fateful day, he saw her again! It was really strange, as she was younger and more beautiful than the day he first lost her. Did she die and return? He did not know. He did not care though. He was just glad she was back. She did not remember him, despite having vague positive feelings for him. He tried his best to help her remember though he was mindful to keep a comfortable distance because she wasn't the same anymore. In time he discovered that she had indeed died and was rejuvenated by a magical swamp, which explained her strange state. He did not care. She was there and that was all that mattered to him. Time passed in a staccato of images and she began to feel closer to him. Was it a revival of old feelings? Or were these newly forged sentiments? Either way, the bond between the two were getting stronger. Then, just as it was due to reach the next stage, she fell gravely ill and went into a coma. "I know what I can do", the guy thought. He brought her to the swamp to revive her. Full of hope, he lovingly immersed her into the murky waters. Her limp body bobbled twice as it was lowered through the water. Her face seemed to ease into a smile and as she went a little deeper, she disappeared as if the magical swamp that brought her back to life reclaimed her. The dream ends here. I wonder if this is a strange reflection of my love life; Doomed to fail when it gets promising.
